2012: Witjuti Grub Bushfood Nursery Breakfast, 26 April
Witjuti Grub Bushfood Nursery Breakfast, 26 April 2012
Bushfoods have sustained the traditional custodians of this land for thousands of years and have continued to be an integral part of our Indigenous peoples’ staple diet and cultural lifestyle.
They enjoyed a rich smorgasbord of native fish and meats as well as an abundance of seasonal fruits, nuts, vegetables and herbs. Witjuti Grub Bushfood Nursery BreakfastThe land continues to provide to those adventurous enough who are willing to learn and try. Through a lack of knowledge and understanding, many Australians in the wider community, have never tasted the unique flavours the bush has to offer.
Graeme White and Veronica Cougan established Witjuti Grub Bushfood Nursery in 1996 and to our knowledge is the only nursery that specialises in Native food plants. They have worked in partnership with many Indigenous Australians and continue to do so on a number of exciting projects. Graeme and Veronica have helped establish Bushfood gardens in over 50 schools and on hundreds of private properties. They have also been involved in consulting in the establishment of a number of commercial Bushfood orchards.
At Witjuti Grub, it’s not just about selling quality plants, it’s also educating people about their varied applications and uses.
Join Graeme and Veronica when they will share their knowledge and experience in growing native food plants, and explore the limitless potential of our unique bushfood flavours to create a truly Australian cuisine.
