Greek Luncheon at Maleny Mountain Wines, 25 March 2012
Forget the state of the Greek economy, don your favourite Nana Mouskouri glasses, and channel your inner Zorba whilst enjoying a three course Greek banquet in celebration of Greek Independence Day on Sunday 25 March from 12noon – 4pm.
Together with the Greek Association of the Sunshine Coast, Slow Food Noosa will host a day of fun and feasting at Maleny Mountain Wines which will include traditional Greek food, Greek dancing, wine tasting and free return coach transportation aboard the ‘Spartacus Express’.
Slow Food President Erika Hackett said that the event was the first major Slow Food fundraiser for 2012 and encouraged all Sunshine Coast food lovers to attend.
“It’s no secret that a big part of Greek culture is about sharing the enjoyment of food and music. With the added incentive of Greek Independence Day we’re sure to have a fantastic day.
“Lunch will be followed by some Greek dancing, courtesy of our friends from the Greek Association so it will be a very traditional celebration as well as helping us to work off some calories from lunch!”
The menu will include:
• Starters: Spanakopita, tarama dip, feta cheese, kalamata olives and breads
• Main course: Chicken or lamb yiros, traditional moussaka, Greek salad and tzatziki
• Sweets: Baklava or vanilla slice with tea and coffee
• Wine: Wine tastings free of charge with wine available for purchase.

Buses depart The J in Noosa Junction at 11am sharp.
Buses depart from the winery for the return trip at 4pm (estimated arrival at The J, 5pm)

$50 members – $60 non-members
NB: Price includes bus transport to the winery if required
